Africa Unite

The Singamakhalipha programme of Africa Unite is based in Gugulethu township and offers services to the Gugulethu district, including Nyanga, Philippi, Kanana, Lusaka, and Europe. These areas face many social challenges, such as poverty, food insecurity, human rights violations, gender-based violence, and substance abuse.

Most children in the township have been exposed to some form of violence, as it has become a norm in township life. The Singamakhalipha programme was established to provide psychosocial support to vulnerable and underprivileged children affected by HIV/AIDS, poverty, and violence.

The programme aims to build resilience among children from disadvantaged areas through preventative interventions. One of our key objectives is to provide a child-centred space for support, recreation, and creative activities that promote healing and well-being.
